2020: Something Good HAS To Happen?!

So you all know that my ultimate goal is to run the London Marathon in 2023. But what about the short term?

Here are my goals to achieve by the end of 2020.

Lets start with WEIGHT LOSS.

I started this journey at over 27 and-a-half stone. That the weight of over 900 Syrian Hamsters (don't ask me how I know that).

The main areas of my body I need to lose weight are......EVERYWHERE! EVERYWHERE GOD DAMN IT!

So I'd like to see the year out at around 24 stone. That's a average loss of 1.5lbs a week, which I think is obtainable (fingers crossed).

OK lets move on to CLOTHES SIZE.

Depending on where I shop I'm currently a around a XXXL (Triple XL). And seems as this whole keeping a blog thing is about me being honest with myself, here are my body measurement as of last week:

  1. Chest Size - 52in

  2. Belly Size - 54in

  3. Waist Size - 52in

  4. Neck Size - 19.5in

Now the problem with the colossal numbers you see above is firstly it looks like the measurements of an African Hippopotamus. Secondly buying 'nice' clothes is a huge problem. Yes...there are lots of 'BIG MAN' retailers out there in the market but 90% of there clothes have no 'Shape' and/or are as short as Tom Cruise in a hole.

So if I can get down to a size where I can buy clothes straight of the High Street racks then I'll be a happy boy.

HAPPIER....I want to be HAPPIER

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with certain parts of my life. I have an amazingly supportive wife and family, and for that I'm truly grateful and blessed and I have a few awesome friends who are there for me.

But I'm not happy with ME....and if I'm honest I haven't been for a long time.

Now before you start, I don't need to see a Shrink or Doctor, I don't have any of that depression bollocks. And before you PC brigade jump down my throat, I'm not having a go at people with REAL depression (it can be a serious condition) but I do believe that you only have to mention your not happy to a GP and WHAM! you're on anti-depression medication. When in truth nobody is ever 100% happy every day. We all have 'Bad Days', but do you know what? That's just life and you've gotta make the most of it. So suck it up Princess! Put down the pills and start living your life to the full.

(Well that went sideways on a tangent faster that Darius's music career)

Back to my original point. Because of my size my confidence is low...so hopefully if I can accomplish 1 & 2 on the list then this will naturally follow.

....and finally RUNNING GOALS!

I'm planning on running my first ever race in early 2021...so this is just a short and simple one...

I wanna be able to run 5K without breaks or breathers. If I can do this by the end of the year then hopefully I'll be as happy as Ken Dodd and Pharrell doing a duo!

Now pass me my pills!
